PM Roosevelt Skerrit Holds the Late Fidel Castro in High Esteem

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has described the late Fidel Castro as one of the great world leaders.

The later Fidel Castro , Former President of Cuba died on Friday night at the age of 90.

He says Cuba has made a significant contribution to various aspects of life in Dominica.

Prime Minister Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit left the country on Monday to attend two major ceremonies in the region.

Mr. Skerrit first travelled to Venezuela to attend the funeral of Ambassador Dr. Bernardo Alvarez, the former Executive Secretary of the Bolivarian Alliance for Our Americas—ALBA. Dr. Alvarez was instrumental in both ALBA and the energy agreement Petro Caribe. He died last Friday, November 25, 2016.

Mr. Skerrit will then travel to Cuba to attend a memorial tribute for former President Fidel Castro Ruz, the revolutionary Leader who also died on Friday, November 25, 2016 at age 90.

Minister for Justice, Immigration and National Security Hon. Rayburn Blackmoore is Acting Prime Minister.
