PM Roosevelt Skerrit off state to attend 77 plus China summit

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has left the state to attend the Group of 77 Plus China Summit in Cuba.

The summit begins today under the theme, ‘The Current Challenges of Development, Role of Science, Technology and Innovation’.

Mr. Skerrit will join other world leaders to discuss current development challenges facing member countries and seek common solutions. The summit is set to issue a final declaration that outlines the purposes and principles of the bloc and addresses the needs of developing countries.

Dominica’s delegation includes Darron Lloyd, Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Rural Modernization, Kalinago Upliftment and Constituency Empowerment, and  Dominica’s Ambassador to Cuba, His Excellency Ian Douglas.

Minister of Finance, Economic Development, Climate Resilience  and Social Security, Dr Irving Mc Intyre is the Acting Prime Minister in the absence of Prime Minister Skerrit.
