Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit is hoping that the improvements to the E.O Leblanc Highway can upgrade the Tourism plant to benefit all Dominicans.
He says there are opportunities for small and medium size businesses which can generate employment.
The Prime Minister told the ground breaking of the 53 million dollar Chinese rehabilitation works on Tuesday that he does not want to see the upgraded highway being used only by motorists.
