PM Skerrit Pledges Assistance for Barbuda Following Country Visit Sunday

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has toured an evacuee shelter in Antigua in a show of solidarity with Barbudans who was displaced by Hurricane Irma.

PM Skerrit arrived in Antigua and Barbuda on Sunday, where he pledged support to the relief effort from the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States.

He spoke to reporters on Sunday night after a closed-door meeting with Antigua and Barbuda’s Prime Minister Gaston Browne.

Skerrit is urging all residents to cooperate with each other.

The Prime Minister accompanied the Chairman of the OECS Authority, Prime Minister of Saint Lucia to the islands of Tortola, Anguilla, St. Kitts, and Antigua and Barbuda.

The visit aimed to assess the needs of OECS Countries affected by Hurricane Irma.
