36 year old Haywood Augustine of Sandwich Street, Portsmouth has been charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of Derek Peters also of Sandwich Street.
Peters succumbed to a gun shot wound to the back of his neck following the shooting incident which occurred on New Years Day marking the country’s first murder for 2018.
Augustine was brought before the Magistrates Court on Thursday 4 January, 2018 where the charge of murder was read to him.
He was subsequently remanded at the Stockfarm Prison.
In 2017 the Police Department reported 19 murders.
