The competition is organized by the  Kommité Pou Etid Kwéyol (KEK) in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the Cultural Division.

St. Luke’s Lamare Sabroache is the winner of 2022 Primary Schools Creole Spelling Bee competition.In second place is Penyal Nagayist of Wooodfordhill primary, and Keyia Roberts of Penville primary placed third.

Meantime, Permanent Secretary within the Education Ministry Chandler Hyacinth is urging schools on island to encourage student participation in Kweyol and cultural events.

The competition forms part of activities to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Dominica’s Konmite pou Etid Kweyol (KEK).

The five schools participating in the competition are the Atkinson Primary, Woodfordhill Primary, Christian Union Primary, St. Luke’s Primary school and the Penville Primary School.
