Chief Education Officer, Melina Fontaine says there is a place for music in the education of children.
She made the observation at the Opening Ceremony of the Primary Schools Music Festival the Arawak House of Culture on Friday.
She says music education will continue to be an important aspect of the school’s curriculum.
She added that music presents economic opportunities for artists in Dominica.
