Prime Minister and Finance Minster Roosevelt Skerrit has announced that Parliament will reconvene this morning as planned, but the sitting will be adjourned without considering matters on the order paper.

In an address to the nation on Thursday, PM Skerrit said the decision was taken in light of the threat posed by those who are protesting amendments to Dominica’s election laws.

The Finance Minister Skerrit says the Opposition United Workers Party will have an opportunity to debate the amendments to the election laws in Parliament.

He says the position taken by the Opposition has come as a surprise to Government.
