Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit says he is against the idea of a mass evacuation of Dominicans in Islands affected by Hurricane Irma.
Mr Skerrit told a press conference on Monday that Dominicans play an integral part of the economic and social development of the affected countries and they will be called upon to help rebuild.
He says while government will not encourage a mass evacuation, exceptions will be made for students, and the sick and elderly.
