Public Asked to Remain Vigilant as Region Enters New Hurricane Season

Acting Senior Met Officer Marshall Alexander is calling on the public to always be prepared and to monitor the weather reports as another hurricane season starts today.

The 2017 hurricane season officially starts to day and will run until November 30th.

An above average hurricane season is expected with forecasters expecting 11 to 17 named storms, with 2 to 4 major hurricanes.
