Leader of the United Workers Party (UWP), Opposition Leader Lennox Linton says while Sam Raphael was involved in the financing of the UWP’s 2005 election campaign, allegations that funds were received in exchange for promises of diplomatic passports are untrue.
He has described a video deposition from Hotelier Sam Raphael as an attempt to destroy the UWP.
Raphael in a video deposition said that he has provided the attorney general with documents which he says proves the UWP attempted to sell diplomatic passports in exchange for campaign financing.
Linton says that Raphael is being used by the Labour Party in an attempt to discredit the opposition and cover up the issues he says are affecting the country.
