Chairman of the Grandbay Village Council, Senator Ed Registe has topped the polls during yesterday’s village council elections.

Registe secured 251 votes, 65 more votes than armour Thomas who finished in second with 186 votes.

The community of grandbay also kept faith with the current council as the 5 members elected on Thursday all served on the previous council.

The 5 elected members are:
Ed Registe who secured 251 votes
Armour Thomas who secured 186 votes,
Reynold Alcendor who got 166 votes.
Margaret Toussaint with 122 votes
Beverly Douglas with 100 votes.

A total of 10 people contested the elections.

Government will now nominate 3 people to join the council to bring the total number of councillors to 8.

The 8 will then decide on a chairman.

The inauguration date is set for September.
