The 26th edition of Dominica’s World Creole Music Festival has been launched.
The three nights of the event, from October 23rd, 24th and 25th, feature acts from around the world
Powerful Jamaican dancehall artists Skillibeng, Capleton and Alkaline are in the line-up.
Trinidad soca artist Machel Montano returns, while Full Blown, also of Trinidad, is included
Grenadian soca artist Vaughn gets a spot in the lineup.
Kompa bands, Haiti’s Klass and Tabou Combo and Les Aiglon of Guadeloupe are down to perform
The energetic Jean Mac Ferdinand of Guadeloupe also makes a return.
Moran Voyer of the French West Indies and bouyon performer Ajaz of Guadeloupe are included.
DR Congo soukous guitarist Diblo Diabala and South African DJ and record producer UNCLE WAFFLES make their inaugural visit to Dominica’s World Creole Music Festival. SO too is Haiti’s and the USA’s FRIDAY.
Dominica’s artists have received a large portion of the spots in the lineup.
Colton-T returns. Mr Ridge, TK International, Pudaz, DJ MJ and MV on the keys, Nice, Gwada G, DJ Taffy, Sharks, Reo, Trilla G, Asa Banton, Signal Band, Ecstasy and Midnight Groovers are rewarded for their efforts over the years.
Patrons who attended the launch of the festival at the Ocean Oasis hotel said they were thrilled with the lineup.
