
The Sports Division Primary Schools Cross Country event concluded thrillingly at the Botanic Gardens with Celine Hakim of WS Stephens Primary School winning the girls’ category.
She dominated the race, finishing well ahead of Kerry-ann Alexander from Wesley Primary and Eden Nesty from Christian Union Primary.
Celine expressed feeling good about her victory.
In the boys’ category, 12-year-old Omari Caesar of Roosevelt Douglas Primary School took first place, with Kenson Paul from Roseau Primary and Deandre St. Rose from Goodwill Primary coming in second and third respectively.

Omari, who has been training for about two years under coach Nabi Wallace, said he felt like the more experienced runner among his peers.
Several schools across the island’s seven districts participated in the finals, making it a competitive and exciting event for all involved.
