Dominica’s Tourism Minister Senator Robert Tonge is of the view that while the country faces many challenges from the destruction which was caused by Hurricane Maria, carnival 2018 can provide many opportunities.
The Tourism Minister told the media launch of carnival 2018 on Friday January 4th, that the 2018 events will provide opportunities of which the country can benefit from.
Carnival 2018 is being celebrated under the theme: “Celebrating our Tradition”.
The Dominica Festival Committee has announced a few changes for the opening of Carnival scheduled for January 26th.
A number of other activities are also planned for Carnival 2018 to include: carnival bord la meh, carnival movie night, bouyon day, stardom calypso tents, reggae on the boardwalk meets soca in the city, lagoon street jam, and a bouyon festival.
The two days of street jump up, Carnival Monday and Tuesday, will be held on the 12th and 13th of February from 4 am to 6 pm.
