The introduction of wristbands for the Yachting
Sector has lived up to expectation.
The Ministry of Tourism, International
Transport and Maritime Initiatives introduced
the wristbands in light of the COVID-19
pandemic to ensure that visitors adhere to the
health and safety protocols.
“So the wristbands is a way of identifying and
enforcing the protocols,” said Permanent
Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism,
International Transport and Maritime Initiatives,
Lisa Valmond.
According to Valmond the green wristbands are
given to people under the Safe in Nature
program.
“If a person is doing their Safe in Nature
experience they would have a green wristband
which indicates mandatory quarantine Safe in
Nature,” Valmond noted.
She further added that a red wristband is given
to individuals who are mandatory quarantine at
the Government facility.
Overnight crew members would also be
required to wear the red wristbands.
“For in transit passengers though, they would
have a light blue wristband, again indicating
mandatory quarantine but they are just in
transit,” Valmond stated.
Additionally, the red wristband is made
available for visitors who upon arrival in
Dominica, would have to take the PCR test and
further await their results in room isolation.
