Tropical Storm Watch Discontinued for Dominica

A Tropical Storm watch issued for Dominica has been discontinued but officials at the Met office say that rain and gusty winds will continue as the storm moves away from the Windward Islands and makes its way into the Caribbean Sea.

Acting Disaster Management Coordinator, Fitzroy Pascal says that rain will continue to be the main threat from the storm. He also says there was a report of a landslide in the Aux Delices area.

Meantime the inclement weather has forced the postponement of the ground breaking ceremony of the multi million dollar road rehabilitation project of the E.O Leblanc highway slated for Macoucherie today.

The event has been rescheduled to take place on Tuesday, August 22nd.
