Under-16 Netball Team Steps Up Preparations for Jean Pierre Youth Tournament

Preparations for the Caribbean Netball Association Jean Pierre Caribbean Youth Netball Tournament are progressing steadily, with Dominica’s national Under-16 netball team continuing its structured training programme.

One of the team’s coaches, Curnia James, said the Sports Division selected 40 young female athletes from schools across the island to form the initial training squad.

The selection forms part of a nationwide effort to identify and develop young netball talent ahead of the regional competition.

Speaking during a practice session at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium, James explained that the players are currently involved in practice matches, which are being used as part of the assessment process to evaluate skill level, teamwork, and overall readiness.

The ongoing training and evaluation will eventually lead to the final selection of the national Under-16 team for the Jean Pierre Caribbean Youth Netball Tournament.
