US$700,000 worth of tools and equipment handed over to the Division of Agriculture

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations has handed over US$700,000 worth of tools and equipment to the Division of Agriculture.

The handing over ceremony was held this morning at the Division of Agriculture grounds.

FAO Sub Regional Coordinator for the Caribbean Dr Lystra Fletcher Paul says the Organization came on board in assisting Dominica immediately after Hurricane Maria.

She says the equipment and tools handed over today form part of an earlier commitment to Dominica.

And Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture Dr Reginald Thomas thanked the FAO for their continued support to Dominica.
