Secretary Treasurer of the Water Front And Allied Workers Union (WAWU), Kertiste Augustus says the termination of employees for failure to report to work to clean up their work places after hurricane Maria is a serious cause for concern.
Augustus says that it should not have been mandatory and that workers should have been given an option.
This week, labour commissioner Dr. Matthew Leblanc raised concerns with the matter.
Augustus says the union has a number of cases on the table to deal with in relation to events post hurricane Maria.
