The Wesley High School has officially launched its 100th Anniversary Celebrations, marking a century of academic achievement, spiritual growth, and service.
The launch ceremony was held this morning at the Bethesda Methodist Church under the theme, “A Century Rooted in Faith, Growing in Excellence and Serving with Love.”

Founded on October 16, 1926, Wesley High School was established as an all-girls Methodist secondary institution in Dominica and has since played a pivotal role in shaping generations of young women.
Chairman of the Board of Management, Reverend Dr. Keith B. Lewis, described the centennial milestone as more than a celebration of longevity.
He stated that the 100-year journey stands as a testament to resilience, vision, and unwavering faith, emphasizing that the institution’s legacy must continue to inspire future generations.
Meanwhile, Principal Kurshner Telemacque-Rabess expressed “immense pride, gratitude, and excitement” as the school embarks on a year-long series of commemorative activities.
She noted that the centennial provides an opportunity not only to reflect on the past but also to embrace change and position the institution for the next century of growth and impact.

Anniversary activities will run from the end of this week through October, the school’s official founder’s month.
Planned events include a Legacy Spotlight Series: Voices of Wesley High School, a broth sale fundraiser this Friday, Legacy in Action — a centennial career and legacy day, a Memorial Legacy Lecture Series in May, and a Banquet and Awards Ceremony scheduled for October among others.
The centennial celebrations are expected to bring together students, alumni, staff, and supporters as the institution commemorates 100 years rooted in faith, growing in excellence, and serving with love.
