West Indies avoided a series defeat and registered a six-run DLS win over Aiden Markram-led South Africa in the weather-hit third and final T20I.

The match at the Wanderers was reduced to 10 overs per side due to rain and lightning, with West Indies posting 114/3 before South Africa finished on 118/6 in the revised chase.

While South Africa had already sealed the series by winning the first two games, they fell short of completing a clean sweep as the Windies signed off with a consolation victory ahead of the T20 World Cup.

Shimron Hetmyer struck an unbeaten 48 from 22 balls smashing six 6’s. Windies Captain, Shai Hope also scored 48 from 25 balls, hitting three 4’s and four 6’s before he was caught by Corbin Bosch off the bowing of Keshav Marahaj. Rovman Powell contributed 13 from 7.

South Africa were set a revised target of 125 in 10 overs. They fell short by 6 runs at the end of their 10 overs on 118/6 with Quinton De Kock making 28 from 14, Jason Smith 26, Dewald Brevis and George Linde got 17 each, and Ryan Rickelton 15.

West Indies left-arm spinner, Gudakesh Motie, spun a web on the South African batsmen as he claimed 3 for 17 in his allotted 2 overs. Shamar Joseph had 1 for 23, Akeal Hosein 1 for 25, and Jason Holder 1 for 30.

West Indies won by 6 runs (DLS Method).
