
The West Indies Under-19 team struck first in the seven-match Youth ODI series, defeating England Under-19s by four wickets in the opening match on Sunday in Grenada.
England won the toss and elected to bat, posting a total of 242 all out. Their innings was anchored by Joe Moores with 59, Caleb Falcon with 44, and Ralphie Albert with 23.
The West Indies bowling attack delivered a balanced performance, with Jakeem Pollard, Shaquan Belle, Kunal Tilokani, and Zachary Carter each taking two wickets.
Chasing 243 for victory, the young Windies reached 246 for 6, driven by a captain’s innings of 90 from Joshua Dorne.
He received key support from Jonathan Van Lange, who contributed 52.
With the win, the West Indies Under-19s take a 1–0 lead in the series. The teams meet again on Wednesday for the second Youth ODI.
