A decision for the 2026 Commonwealth games to be hosted in Glasgow Scotland has been welcomed by the Chair of the Commonwealth Games Athlete Federation

Chairman of the Commonwealth Games Athlete Federation Brendan Williams has welcomed a decision for the 2026 Commonwealth games to be hosted in Glasgow Scotland.

The Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) asked the city to step in and host after the state of Victoria in Australia pulled out.

Williams said more details will be finalized during a Commonwealth Games meeting this week.

The Commonwealth Games is a multi-sport event which takes place every four years.

Thea Lafond Gadson won a silver medal for Dominica at the last games in Birmingham in 2022, in the women’s Triple Jump.

While in 2018, she managed a bronze in Australia.

Yordanis Garcia also won silver for Dominica in 2018.
