Caribbean pharmacists told they play a significant role in health care for citizens

Caribbean pharmacists have been told that they play a significant role in health care for citizens.

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health Dr. Kyra Paul made the remarks at the opening ceremony of the 45th Annual Conference of the Caribbean Association of Pharmacists at the State House Conference Centre last night.

75 pharmacists representing 18 countries are here for the week-long event.

The Conference is being held under the theme, ‘Pharmacy 2025 and Beyond, Transforming Health Care through Innovation, Accountability and Research’.

Dr. Paul said the Conference will discuss several health issues of interest to the Caribbean.

Meantime, a national of the Cayman Islands has been elected the new president of the Caribbean Association of Pharmacists.

Jermaine Lowrie replaces Guyanese Kalawattie Datt Singh.
