Chairman of the World Rivers Day Committee, Father Franklyn Cuffy responds to the situation at Deux Branches

Chairman of the World Rivers Day Committee, Father Franklyn Cuffy, has reiterated a call for the ratification of World Rivers Day in Dominica.

Cuffy responded to recent concerns raised by local environmentalists regarding the quarrying activities in Deux Branches for stones intended for the development of the international airport.

He emphasised that ratifying World Rivers Day would enhance awareness of the need to protect Dominica’s water resources and could address some of the concerns related to quarrying activities at Deux Branches.
