Briel Thomas and Jessica Pierre-Louis Crowned DFA Players of the Year at 2025 Awards Ceremony

Central Cooperative Credit Union Dublanc FC Captain, Briel Thomas has been named the 2025 DFA Male Player of the year

Central Cooperative Credit Union Dublanc FC Captain, Briel Thomas has been named the 2025 DFA Male Player of the year while Roosevelt Skerrit Bombers Starlights player, Jessica Pierre-Louis has been named the DFA Female player of the year.

The two copped the awards at the 2025 DFA Awards ceremony on the weekend.

Briel Thomas who was also named the best midfielder in the premier league, led CCCUL Dublanc FC to their third consecutive premier league title in the 2025 season.

This is the second time that the Dublanc FC midfielder has been named the Male player of the year.

Meantime, Dublanc’s Jerome Burkard won the golden glove award for the Premier League.

Deonel Abraham of the Mahaut Soca Strikers was named the best defender while Dublanc’s Briel Thomas was named the best midfielder and Audel Laville, also of Dublanc FC, named the best attacker and golden boot winner for the most goals.

Valvoline We United’s Darius Gasper was named the best male young player of 2025 while CCCUL Dublanc FC Head Coach, Malcolm Bertrand was named coach of the year.

Meantime, in the Women’s Premier League, the best goalkeeper went to Kernisha Adams of the New India Goodwill Runners while Jessica Pierre-Louis of the Portsmouth Bombers was judged the best defender.

Roosevelt Skerrit Bombers Starlights player, Jessica Pierre-Louis has been named the DFA Female player of the year.

Best midfielder went to Chi’na Tullock of the Kalinago Warriors, best attacker and golden boot winner went to Britney Dennis of the Mahaut Soca Striketts.

Nickelle Hector of the New India Goodwill Runners was named the best young player and Kenneth Esprit of the Soca Striketts, named the Coach of the Year.

Awards were also handed out for the under-15, under-18 and Division One competitions.

Meantime, featured speaker at the event, the Managing Director of the National Bank of Dominica (NBD), Arnette Severin-Lestrade, told the awardees that they must strive to continue to excel.
