Contracts worth over $1.3 million dollars signed for the construction of 50 boats and rehabilitation of 3 fish landing sites

Dominica’s Fisheries Sector broke new ground on Friday, with the signing of contracts valued at over $1.3 million dollars.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Blue and Green Economy hosted the Boat Building and Landing Sites Signing of Contracts Ceremony on Friday at the Ministry of Finance Conference Room.

The contracts are for the construction of 50 boats and rehabilitation of 3 fish landing sites.

Minister of State in the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Blue and Green Economy Julan Defoe said the signing of contracts are another component of the World Bank funded Emergency Agricultural Livelihoods and Climate Resilience Project.

And boat builder Robert Dublin of Massacre added the signing of contracts for 50 boats was a move in the right direction.
