Director of Public Prosecutions warns against the use of  Realistic imitation firearms.

Director of Public Prosecutions Sherma Dalrymple has warned against the use of Realistic imitation firearms

Realistic imitation firearms are objects which have the appearance of a firearm.

She told the Ministry of National Security program on DBS radio last night that Dominica’s firearms act makes provision for a fine or imprisonment for anyone found guilty with the use of an imitation firearm.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Alleyne Maximen stated there are examples of the use of imitation firearms to commit serious crimes in Dominica.

Meantime, the Director of Public Prosecutions said the importation of toy guns into Dominica may have to be discussed.
