Dominica given high marks for its ability to deal with climate change impacts

The UN Special Rapporteur on the promotion and protection of human rights, has given Dominica high marks for its ability to deal with climate change impacts.

Elisa Morgera who arrived here this month at the invitation of Government to determine the manner in which climate change is impacting on human rights, says the Government and people of Dominica have shown remarkable resilience.

Morgera presented her report to the Dominica media this week.

The UN special rapporteur says Dominica has learned lessons from previous climate change setbacks and implemented strategies for recovery.
