Dominica’s Kavem Hodge has been rewarded for the good start to his test cricket career as he is among 15 players awarded retainer contracts by Cricket West Indies for the 2024/2025 season.
Hodge who made his debut against Australia earlier this year, already has two half centuries and a century against England under his belt.
Dominica’s Alick Athanaze also found favor and has been offered another retainer contract.
Athanaze and Hodge have been offered single year contracts along with Kraigg Brathwaite, Keacy Carty, Roston Chase, Joshua Da Silva, Akeal Hosein, Romario Shepherd and Rovman Powell.
While CWI has handed out new multiyear contracts to Shai Hope, Alzarri Joseph, Shamar Joseph, Brandon King, Gudakesh Motie, and Jayden Seales.
The multiyear contracts are based on a new four-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed in January 2024 between CWI and the West Indies Players Association (WIPA).
Cricket West Indies also handed out 15 retainer contracts to its women players.
The West Indies women’s captain Haley Matthews, Stafanie Taylor and Shermaine Campbelle are among the 15 female cricketers receiving contracts.
