Dominica’s Prime Minister shuts down call for Parliament to prevent the calling of general elections during the voter confirmation process.

Dominica’s Prime Minister, Roosevelt Skerrit, has shut down a call for Parliament to take action to prevent the calling of general elections during the voter confirmation process.

Opposition Senator Delbert Paris said last week that he was hoping an election would not be announced while voter confirmation was underway.

However, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit says the Constitution of Dominica allows the Prime Minister to decide on a date for general elections.
