Finn Allen Fires Fastest Century in World Cup History as New Zealand Storm into T20 WC Final

The Kiwis (New Zealand) toppled the unbeaten South Africans in their most dominant display of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 so far. The South African bowlers had no answer to Finn Allen who made history as he struck the fastest ever century in a men’s T20 World Cup match. His superb 100* off 33 balls booked New Zealand’s spot in the Final.

South Africa had first knock, they posted 169/8 in 20 overs. Marco Jansen hit an unbeaten 55*, Dewald Brevis 34, Tristan Stubbs 24, and Aiden Markram 18.

Cole McConchie bowled one over and picked up 2 wickets for 9 runs, Rachin Ravindra had 2 for 29, Matt Henry 2 for 34, Lockie Ferguson 1 for 29, and James Neesham 1 for 42.

New Zealand’s run chase was powered by a 117-run opening partnership between Tim Seifert who fell for 58 off 33 and Finn Allen 100* off 33 balls. Allen smashed eight 6’s and ten 4’s.

Rachin Ravindra added 13 off 11.

Kagiso Rabada took 1 for 28 from 3 overs.

New Zealand won by 9 wickets and punched their ticket to finals of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
