Fire Chief Josiah Dupuis is retiring after 18 years at the helm.
A ceremony to honor Mr. Dupuis was held at the Fire Headquarters on Friday morning.
Minister for National Security Rayburn Blackmoore told the ceremony that Mr. Dupuis served with distinction.
Meantime, the outgoing Fire Chief said the cooperation of fire officers and management of the Fire Department was key to his success
