The government of Dominica has reaffirmed its commitment to the Cooperative Movement on island.
Minister for Community Development Gretta Roberts says Cooperatives have positively impacted Dominica’s economy over the years.
She made these remarks during the official launch of the International Year of Cooperatives this morning.

A calendar of activities to commemorate the International Year of Cooperatives was also launched this morning.
These activities include supervisory and compliance training, a Cooperatives Recognition Awards ceremony, Youth Education Day, educational sessions on Cooperatives, a Cooperatives Expo, a “Honey in the Town” event, and a roundtable discussion.
This year’s activities are being held under the theme “Cooperatives Build a Better World.”
The International Day of Cooperatives will be observed on Saturday, July 5th, 2025.
