Head coach of the Women’s National Cricket team, Sam Kernon, says the performances of the Windward Islands Women’s Under-19 team highlight the need for more to be done for women’s cricket across the region.
The Windwards Under-19 team finished in 6th place in the CWI Rising Stars Under-19 tournament, managing just one win in the entire competition, which ended on the weekend.
Kernon says while the schedule was tough for the young ladies, they were not properly prepared.

Windward Islands captain, Dominica’s Kaela George, has been included in a training squad for the women’s West Indies Under-19 team.
