Kevin James got an important half century and Gary Daniel got a 4 wicket haul as the Nagico Northern Stars trounced the Grandbay Credit Union Colts to win the 2024 Dominica Cricket Association’s NCCU Presidents Cup on Sunday at the Geneva Playing field.
The Grandbay team entered the match with an unbeaten record and the home field advantage, but they were outplayed as they crashed to the heavy defeat.
The Northern stars made 228 all out batting first.
Kevin James got 55 not out, Lluvio Charles 41, and Vincent Lewis 35.
Sherwin Williams took 3-31 for Grandbay, Jeremy Isaac 2-42 and Alvinson Jolly 1-9.
Grandbay chasing 229 to win the title were off to a slow start, and were 32-5 at one point.
Asa Bantan and the Sakis Lapo Kabwait tried their best to motivate the Grandbay team but it just wasn’t their day as they were bowled out for 74 in front of their home crowd.
Alvinson Jolly got 21.
Gary Daniel took 4-28, and Kyron Phillip 2-8.
Nagico Northern Stars won by 154 runs.
