Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit pays tribute to the late Julius Timothy

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit says the late Julius Timothy served Dominica with distinction.

Mr. Timothy, former Government Minister in both the UWP and Dominica Labour Party administrations and businessman, died at the weekend after a lengthy battle with illness.

Mr. Timothy was a founding member of the UWP and was deputy leader of the Party.

He served as Parliamentary Representative for the Roseau North Constituency and was Minister of Finance in the UWP administration and Minister for Health in the Dominica Labour Party Government.

He had a distinguished career in business and was owner of AC Shillingford and company in Pottersville, Roseau and High Street.

He held a Masters of Business Administration, MBA from the University of the West Indies and was president of the Dominica Association of Industry and Commerce.

The late Timothy was an avid sportsman having played cricket, football, table tennis and dominos. He once led the formidable Swansea domino team of Pottersville.  At school level he was junior table tennis champion in 1969.

Mr. Timothy through his generosity touched the lives of many in Dominica, particularly in Roseau North where he was Parliamentary Representative.

The board of directors, management and staff of DBS Radio extend condolences to the family and friends of the late Julius Timothy.
