The Dominica Association of Teachers has announced that its members will receive an 8 percent salary increase over a three-year period.
President of the Dominica Association of Teachers Mervin Alexander says they have concluded successful negotiations with government.
Alexander says some teachers will become established effective September 1 this year.

Mr. Alexander says teachers who did not benefit following the reclassification exercise conducted in 2023 could also receive a one-off payment of as much as 50 percent of their salary.
He says the acting allowance and pension Acts will be amended to bring benefits to teachers in terms of gratuity upon retirement and resignation.
