The Dominica Association of Teachers (DAT) recognized several teachers and schools during the observance of World Teachers’ Day.

The Dominica Association of Teachers has recognised several schools and teachers for their performance over the years.

Castle Bruce Secondary was named the most improved school in maths, while Saint Mary’s Academy took the award for outstanding performance in technical drawing, woodwork work and electricity.


Portsmouth Secondary was named the outstanding school in home economics, and Convent, the outstanding performer in business.

Convent topped for foreign language and North East, the most improved school in English A.

Isiah Thomas Secondary School was named the overall most improved secondary school. Isiah Thomas was also named the most innovative secondary school.


Castle Bruce was the most consistent school in physical education, PSS topped in natural sciences and Convent in social sciences.

Saint Mary’s Academy took the award for theatre arts.


The most promising principal in the southern district is Josette Morancie Langford of Wotton Waven.


Manuella Gregoire of Morne Jaune Primary, the most promising principal on the east.
