The Pan American Health Organization is honoring the late Dr. Carissa Etienne, with the naming of a regional Emergency Operations Centre.
The Carissa F. Etienne Emergency Operations Centre which is located in Barbados was officially inaugurated today, and will serve Barbados and countries of the Eastern Caribbean.
The Dominican borne Dr. Etienne served as Director of PAHO and World Health Organization Regional Director for the Americas from February 2013 to January 2023.

Meantime, Barbados’ Minister for Health and Wellness Senator Jerome Walcott says the launch of the Carissa F. Etienne Emergency Operations Centre is timely.
