
Dominica is celebrating another medal on the world’s big stage as Thea Lafond Gadson produced a season’s best performance to secure a silver medal in the women’s triple jump at the world athletics championships in Japan this morning.
Lafond saved her best jump for last, as she powered her way past her nemesis, Rojas of Venezuela, to win the silver medal.
Thea jumped 14.89 meters on her 6th and final attempt, a season’s best on her way to the silver.
Speaking to DBS Radio after the event, Thea said that she was happy to have delivered another medal for Dominica.
