West Indies opened their ICC T20 World Cup campaign with a 35-run victory over Scotland on Saturday.
The Windies overcame a slow start with a dominant all-round performance led by Shimron Hetmyer and Romario Shepherd.
After being restricted to just 33 runs in the powerplay, West Indies recovered strongly to post 182 for 5.
Hetmyer anchored the innings with a blistering 64 off 36 balls, hitting the fastest half century for a West Indian in a World Cup.
He was well supported by Rovman Powell, who made 24, as the pair added 81 runs for the third wicket.

Sherfane Rutherford chipped in with 26 as Scotland’s Brad Currie claimed 2 for 23.
In reply, Scotland were bowled out for 147, despite a 78-run fourth-wicket partnership between Richie Berrington (42) and Tom Bruce (35). Once that stand was broken, the West Indies bowlers took control.
Romario Shepherd produced a match-winning spell of 5 for 20, including a hat-trick, the tenth ever player to get a hat-trick in a world cup, while Jason Holder picked up 3 for 30, sealing a convincing win for the Caribbean side.

West Indies 182/5 beat Scotland 147 by 35 runs
