Dominica Set for Historic FIBA Senior Debut in Guyana

Dominica will make its historic debut in a senior FIBA competition when it opens its campaign in the FIBA AmeriCup 2029 Caribbean Pre-Qualifiers against the Turks and Caicos Islands on Thursday in Guyana.

The tournament marks the first time Dominica will compete in a senior FIBA event, representing a significant milestone for the country’s basketball programme.

Dominica has been drawn in a group alongside hosts Guyana, Antigua and Barbuda, and Bermuda.

The national team departed for Guyana today ahead of the opening fixture.

The squad is being led by Kijuan Thomas as Captain. It includes Yawani Regis, Jacob Barry, Andell Olivacce, Jaiden Scotland, Ramal Carbon, Ethan Boland, Karim Daniel, Nathan Sebastien, Shamar Felicite, Maxwell Birmingham, and Zack Bastien.
