Anna-Maria Panthier continues to age like fine wine, showing no signs of slowing down, as the veteran player powered the Spartans to yet another National Netball title, beating the Celtics last night at the Windsor Park.
Panthier put the Spartans on her back in the 4th quarter, scoring 24 from 27 attempts as the Spartans withheld a late rally from the Celtics to walk away 44-42 winners. Kenya John made 14 from 16 and Shernelle St Rose 8 from 13 attempts for the Spartans.
For the Celtics, Mellisa Williams made 25 from 39 attempts, and Akeelah Daisy 17 from 25, as they overcame a double-digit deficit in the 3rd quarter to take the lead, but came up short in the end.
