Alick Athanaze Retained By St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots For CPL 2026

West Indies batsman, Alick Athanaze will continue his Caribbean Premier League journey with the St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots after the franchise retained the left-hander for the 2026 CPL season.

The Patriots confirmed that they exercised their right-to-match option on Athanaze.

Athanaze will be among a strong core of regional players selected for the upcoming tournament by the Patriots, which is scheduled to run from August 7 to September 20, 2026.

The Patriots also retained West Indies all-rounder Kyle Mayers and rising Kittitian player Mikyle Louis, while re-signing veteran opener Andre Fletcher through the right-to-match process.

In a major boost to their batting lineup, the Patriots drafted CPL all-time leading run-scorer Johnson Charles.

Former West Indies captain Jason Holder has also been drafted back into the Patriots setup, while Kevin Wickham and Obed McCoy are set to join the franchise for the first time in 2026.

Ashmead Nedd, Navin Bidaisee, and West Indies Under-19 player, Micah McKenzie also joins the Patriots set-up.

CPL 2026 will be played in a record-equalling eight nations this year, with fixtures in Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, and Trinidad and Tobago.
