Dominica Men Claim Bronze at ECVA Championships After Five-Set Thriller

Dominica’s men’s national volleyball team secured a bronze medal at the ECVA Championships in the British Virgin Islands on Sunday after defeating Bermuda in a dramatic five-set battle.

Dominica appeared in control early, winning the opening two sets. Bermuda, however, responded strongly to take the next two and force a decisive fifth set.

The final set went down to the wire, with Dominica eventually prevailing 21-19 to secure third place and the bronze medal.

Team setter and Public Relations Officer of the Dominica Amateur Volleyball Association, Sidney John, reflected on the team’s performance following the match.

The men’s team completed the championship with an impressive four victories from five matches, with their only defeat coming during the preliminary phase.

Meanwhile, Dominica’s women’s team finished the tournament in fifth place after ending their campaign on a winning note.

The Dominican women lost their opening three matches but bounced back to win their final two, including a thrilling five-set victory over Anguilla in the fifth-place playoff on Sunday.

Dominica won the match 25-21, 27-29, 25-19, 23-25, 15-11 to close out the championship strongly.
