Minister of State in the Ministry of Sports, Oscar George, says government is moving forward with plans for the development of the national track and field facility at Pointe Round, with earthworks expected to begin soon.
George revealed that discussions were recently held with Mondo, the company engaged by World Athletics to install the track, and assurances were given that the firm’s internal processes, along with arrangements involving the Qatar Development Fund, should be completed soon.
The project, which will also include a swimming pool and other amenities, is being supported by World Athletics and is aimed at creating greater opportunities for young athletes in Dominica.
